Lake Körbersee

In October 2017, Lake Körbersee was voted the most beautiful place in Austria during the ORF success show "9 Plätze 9 Schätze" (9 places 9 treasures)!

The idyllically situated Körbersee is the destination and starting point of many hiking tours. Especially families with children appreciate the mountain lake for a relaxing break with a cool refreshment or a relaxing rowing trip.

Hochtannberg Kalbelesee Körbersee

The Hochtannbergpass is located between the villages of Schröcken and Warth. It is a unique hiking area, passing the Kalbelesee lake, you can reach the Körbersee lake in only 40 minutes.

From Haus Rothorn it is also only 40 minutes to the natural jewel of Schröcken, the Körbersee.

Widderstein

The majestic Widderstein (2,536 m) is one of the "rock giants" around Schröcken and Warth.

From the Widderstein you can see over the whole Kleinwalsertal and into the Bregenzerwald. Ascent from the Hochtannberg to the summit takes about 2 hours.

Biberach hut

The Biberacher Hütte is located on the Schadonapass, an old crossing between the Bregenzerwald and the Biosphere Park Großes Walsertal. The hut is the starting point for alpine climbing routes in the area, for climbing in the nearby climbing garden or for beautiful mountain hikes.

Hiking tip for a demanding and scenic tour:
from Schröcken via Fürggele, on the southern slopes of the Hochberg and Rothorn to the Biberacher Hut - descent to the landing stage* and along the Bregenzerache back to Schröcken
*or from the landing stage by bus to Schröcken

Braunarlspitze and Butzensee

Courage and a head for heights are needed to climb the summit of Braunarlspitze (2,649 m). The natural high mountain lake, the Butzensee, lies in the hollow between the Mohnenfluh and Braunarlspitze. It is the highest mountain in the Bregenzerwald.

Starting point for the ascent is in Schröcken or in Lech. From Schröcken you go to Fellalpe and further on to the high glacier.
From there to Fürggele and up to Braunarl. Back you go on another way either to Lech or to the Butzensee and further to Schröcken.

Auenfeld

At the Auenfeldsattel the main European watershed is the Danube-Rhine.

A beautiful and family-friendly hiking trail leads over the floodplain from Oberlech to the Hochtannberg in the Bregenzerwald.

Butzensee

The emerald-green Butzensee on the Arlberg is an attractive hiking destination at the foot of the Mohnenfluh dolomite massif.

The term "Butzen" refers to the many small springs that originate here.
