Two mountain communities with Walser charm
Warth and Schröcken are two small Walser communities situated at 1300-1500m above sea level. Between the villages lies the Hochtannbergpass - a beautiful plateau which is an ideal starting point for hikes and mountain tours in summer. In winter it is one of three entrances to the Warth-Schröcken or Ski Arlberg ski area. The region is considered to be a particularly natural snow-sure area due to its northern dam location, which makes our winter sports friends especially happy.
From Haus Rothorn to the Ski Arlberg ski area
Haus Rothorn is located in Schröcken, on the sunny plateau of Nesslegg at 1,500m. Our guests can reach the skiing area comfortably in 5 minutes by ski bus to the first entry point at the Salober. Get out of the bus, onto the skis and off you go to the skiing pleasure Ski Arlberg - the largest, connected skiing area in Austria with 305 km of slopes and 87 cable cars.
Paulis Ski Arena is located in a sunny position at the Salober valley station. A unique practice area for children and beginners. Also at the valley station of the Saloberjet are the Salober Restaurant businesses with self-service restaurant, S1 ski lounge, huge sun terrace and large umbrella bar. There is even a children's restaurant "s Adlernest" for the children of the ski school. A perfect place for families, as well as for sporty gourmets. Back to Haus Rothorn, the new village ski run takes you all the way to Nesslegg, so you can ski almost to your front door!
The Outdoor Adventure Eldorado
Directly from Haus Rothorn there are numerous possibilities for more leisurely or more demanding hikes and mountain tours. The full load of adrenalin is guaranteed on the canyoning tour, which starts just a few metres from the house. Or rush into the village centre with 6 Flying-Fox cable cars and climb 300 metres in altitude. Courage and balance are required in the Schröcken adventure park with 42 rope courses, which are located above the Bregenzerache, in the forest and on the rock.
Another highlight is the Karhorn via ferrata. The first and easier part is suitable for beginners who are gaining their first experience on natural rock. The second part is already a bit more "crispy". Our mountain guides from the Alpine Schröcken and Widderstein schools are perfect companions for these tours.
